While the likes of Robin Hood and the Pied Piper, the first two figures to feature in the Medival Legends Series, are popular folk heroes whose existence in the historical record is suspect at best, Lady Godiva is very real. Countless documents provide evidence of her existence as the wife of Leofric, the Earl of Mercia in England in the 11th century. Lady Godiva is remembered for many exploits, though her most famous is the legend of her riding naked through the streets of Coventry.

On the obverse of Medieval Legends Lady Godiva Silver Rounds is a new design showing off the legendary beauty, and daring, of Lady Godiva. In this design, Lady Godiva is shown riding side-saddle on a large draft horse through the streets of Coventry. In keeping with her legend, this figure of Lady Godiva is without clothing, though her long hair strategically covers her figure.

The reverse side of 1 oz Medieval Legends Lady Godiva Silver Rounds continues with the design common to the series. This image might seem simple at first. It is, after all, a humble table setting in the room of an unknown Medieval castle. Look closely at the relics scattered on the table, and you will find that each of the relics represents a different character to feature in the Medieval Legends Series.
